Hello friend,

Does the car act normal and accelerate normal up to 35 mph?

Go through the basics. Since this seems to have started while driving, the first thing I'd look at is plug wires. Make sure they are connected properly and not burned through.

Did you lose the dime sized plug out of the carb?
Backfires usually pop that out.

Sounds like maybe you have a massive intake/vacuum leak or your timing is way out or not advancing.will it run smoothly with the accelerator slightly depressed but not when you wind it up?

BUT.. with efi you can also have a malfunctioning sensor. Unfortunately I do not know enough about them to trouble shoot the right ones.

could even be a failing fuel pump or regulator or broken vacuum line to the regulator.

OH i see its a mis match engine year. If you didn't know you even had fuel injection to this point.. its probably moot to ask.. but.

Is it a full factory system or an aftermarket fuel injection system?
