I have the sp1600 in now and running. I have not driven it yet, and I'm kind of afraid t to. I'm used to the power the car had, not what it will have now. I was able to fit the new A-1 I jsut put on the car, so as long as I dont' open the decklid, the outside world will never know...

Well not too much new with the car right now. It made it up to Flanders for the show okay. I have not been driving it much since it's not that much fun to drive with the single port. I have been debating on wether or not to fix the 1914 or just start new. A friend recently made me an offer on my 52 zwitter, and I agreed to it. Looks like I have the money for the 2110 I have been thinking about. There should be some good updated this winter.

Nothing like a 2 liter plus in a street car. I drove my black bug to work today after not driving it for awhile. It is TONS more fun to drive than my truck, but that 1776 is just lacking in the "seat planting department". When I rustle up some cash I definitely want to build a new engine for it. What I would LOVE to do is tone down the compression in the drag car engine, put that in the street car, and build a new engine for the drag car. It's a win/win!!!
I think you will be happier with a bigger engine in the sports than having 2 near stock cars. I wonder if the fire did something to the temper in the metal of the heads or something funny like that in the 1914?

I've wondered that too. It was running good and strong until the valve broke, and it wasn't the whole head, just a chunk of it.

Well as life goes on, things change. I think for now I will just fix the 1914, and see where that gets me. I have not done too much with the car recently, I've spent more time cleaning and organizing my stuff out in the garage.

I got a replacement cylinder barrel for the one that was damaged, and ordered some new heads. I can't wait to get that sp 1600 out of the car!

I got the heads, I'm porting them myself to save cash. I got started on that on Friday. If things stay slow at work I should be able to get them done in a week or so.

Got the engine back in the car, and fired up today. I still need to dial it all in, but it's good to hear it run again. Hopefully it will last a few years this time.
