OK I give up. What's the cut down cam with no lobes for? Looks like it doesn't do anything.

You still need the cam gear to turn the oil pump...

All I can say is WOW.
Wish I had the time, equipment and skills to do that. -------------------- "I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example"

I just cant stop watching these. I love autocross! ! ! Awsome video quality, awsome car, awsome driving skills. You are fast bro, way FAST. can' wait till saturday to start off our auto x season here in Alabama. Sure wish someone would come race thier beetles with me. Super beetles are so much fun at and auto x or trackday. More people should go try it and learn their car and themselves. This post has been edited by bug2nr: Feb 26 2010, 02:05 |

Gee thanks guys
I have been working on, and driving my super for three years now and the high light to the drive to work every day in this nice little shacane coming into the parking lot. I get to work between 6:15 and 6:30 every morning and the lot is almost empty and if there are no cars at that end, I whip the beetle through the corners as fast as I can. As I have worked on the engine and suspension I have gotten faster, and with the recent installation of the ratio rockers and plumbing the engine case gas tube to the air filters I have been very happy with my little car. Last weekend the snow from the recent storm melted and the lot has had a light layer of sand on it all this week so as I whip into the lot I have been able to get a little drift out of the super. So I come flying into the lot sliding sideways tare across the lot and slide into my space, turn off the engine just as the cloud of dust rolls past the car making me feel like a real race car driver. Then today I find this thread and now I feel... well... kinda silly. But the videos are great I watched every one... twice so I can watch the track one time and watch the driver the next. If anyone ever cuts all of these together I'd buy that video. Chris -------------------- FAST is good, CONTROL is better !
